The Market
Investments for E&P for 2010 were foreseen as €544m covering the drilling of 6 exploratory new wells and the development and cultivation of a further ten. Recoverable reserves stand at 911m barrels of oil and 91bn cu.mts while potential quantities are between 400 to 1 bn barrels of oil and between 120 to 200 bn cu.mts of gas. The oldest LNG plant is at Panigaglia where an extension is planned, but awaiting approval.
There are plans to build regassification plants others both on and off-shore at Gioia Tauro, Porto Empedocle, Priolo, Brindisi , Monfalcone, API and GdF while the BP/Edison plant at Rosignano received approval of the EIA in November of 2010. The country is involved in various gas pipe-line projects connecting Libya, Greece, Albania, Algeria to mainland Italy eg ITGI-Poseiden, and TAP which will bring gas from central Asia to Italy; Galsi and GreenStream.
Explore the opportunities first-hand
Apart from the opportunities in the domestic market, many others exist with the Italian EPCs who operate successfully in Third Countries. Several of these will be included in the visit programme including ENI, Techint, MaireTecnimont and Siirtec Nigi. An idea of the strength of these EPCs can be seen from the short profiles by clicking here. We will also visit Technip and Foster Wheeler.
Following the visit you will have a variety of new sales leads and key contacts within the EPC market worldwide which will enable you to better understand the requirements, conditions and prospects for your company in this market.
