Port of Cape Town Ship Repair SHEQ Symposium

 

The South African Oil and Gas Alliance in partnership with TNPA Port of Cape Town is hosting a 1-day workshop to emphasise the value of sound Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality practice in the Industry. Date, time and venue to be advised.

 

The continuous improvement of the ship repair facilities within the ports operational areas remains a focal point for the Port of Cape Town. A joint stakeholder forum was established to jointly ensure that world class SHEQ standards within repair facilities and the operating environment are upheld and that jointly the Port, SAOGA and Industry will address the upgrade and maintenance / preventative maintenance of repair facilities and infrastructure in the Port. The objective of the workshop is to inform ship repair contractors of TRANSNET’s strategy to certify and licence operators in accordance with Regulation and Legislation.

 

The programme for the day will deal with TRANSNET’s SHEQ Strategy and Legislation, The role of the Forum, talks by 2 industry matter experts on health and safety practices in the workplace, 2 presentations by companies outlining the importance of HSE in relation to Projects and Client requirements and the importance of workplace training. The programme will be interactive with a number of discussion sessions, exhibits and culminating in a Networking function.  

The final programme will be distributed as soon as it becomes available.
