Area of Expertise is in the Fabrication of Storage Tanks,Pressure Vessels,High Pressure Piping,and General Fabrication.
Engineering Africa was established in 2000 in Cape Town,as a General Engineering Concern.
Herewith,a brief history of the Projects completed:
Due to our previous association with DCD-Dorbyl and Elgin Brown & Hamer,we found ourselves completely immersed in the Ship Repair Industry.Here we have fabricated and installed,various Plant & Equipment,on Vessels that serviced the Oil & Gas Industry in West Africa.
As our Operations Manager were previously employed by De Beers,we were also supplying Engineering Services to their Vessels,in Cape Town and Luderitz,and their Mining operations,in Namibia.
Another Diamond Company that were regularly serviced by Engineering Africa,were Samicor.
In 2004 we were tasked to build a 80 Ton Pilot Boat - The Tsitskama,for Portnet,in Cape Town.The Principal Contractors were Vee-Craft Marine,that supplied the Project Team,and logistical support.The above vessel is currently doing service in Durban Harbour.
We pride ourselves on the fact,that It was the first vessel,ever to be built by a Black Empowerment Company.
In 2006-2007 Engineering Africa did a JV with Sahara Projects from Pretoria,whereby we fabricated and installed all the Process Piping & Instrumentation for Pilkington Float Glass (PFG) ,at their plant,in Springs,JHB.
In 2008-2009,Engineering Africa were doing a number of Re-Fits and Dry-Dockings in Walvis Bay,with a Namibian Ship Repair Company,called Kraatz Marine.
Here we were servicing most of the Rig Support Vessels,that were stationed around the West African Coast.
In 2010 we were still finding ourselves in Namibia,where we sub-contracted to Kraatz Industrial Division,at Langer-Heinrich Platinum Mine in Swakopmund.
Here we have fabricated and installed all the High Pressure Steam Lines,and Equipment.
Between 2011-2012,Engineering Africa were Fabricating & Installing Stainless & Carbon Steel Pipelines,at Trekkopje Platinum Mine (Areva),in Swakopmund.
Additional Scope,was to install all Plant & Equipment,for completion.
Principal Contractor - Cosira International.
2013 - Partial Completion of WFGD Absorber at Kusile Power Station,Mpumalanga.
Won the contact to complete the Balance of Plant,after Cosira has gone into default.

2014 - Present: Fabrication and Installation of all Piping on the Water Treatment Plant.Fabrication and Installation of Stainless Steel Vessels.Installation of all equipment.
Type of Piping - Stainless Steel / Carbon Steel / Boiler Tubing/ Instrumentation Tubing / Boiler Tubing & HDPE.
Engineering Africa has a flat Management Structure,whereby each Project Team handles each project,from the Pricing Stage,up to the Commissioning Stage.
All Team Members are Customer-focused and Service-Orientated,and 100% hands-on.
In 2016,Engineering Africa,opened a fully-fledged Fabrication Facility in Gauteng,when they joined forces with Gridfast Africa.
Gridfast Africa is a World-Class Fabricator and Supplier,of Gratings,Handrails,Stair-threads,etc.
Gridfast Africa is also suppliers of High-Volume Structural Steel.This has been an excellent opportunity,to broaden our collective horizons,and Client Bases.
Gridfast Africa is a supplier to various Mining Operations,in Sub-Saharan Africa,and is also ISO 9001-Certified.
Engineering Africa has acquired more than 20 different Weld Procedures,ranging from Fluxcor-Welding for Plate Fabrication,procedures for the Austenitic Range of Materials (316L / 316H / 316 Ti)
Other Welding Procedures include P91 & P22 (Boiler Tubing)
